Like Spanish conquistadors banishing images of false idols from Mayan temples, the new regime in Lakewood is trying to forget a part of its history. Seems someone has pried off former mayor Anthony Sinagra’s placard from its place in the City Center and replaced it with some Kelly-green generic label that simply says, “Lakewood, Ohio.” Sinagra pleaded guilty to corruption charges last year, for bribing J. Kevin Kelley. Note to Ed FitzGerald: you could rake in some big contributions for your county executive bid by auctioning it off to the top bidder!
